Day 4 at Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxenburg-Platz in Berlin! We are currently rehearsing with Heather and Jeremy alias A Hawk and a Hacksaw and we promise you, their compositions are a unique experience for us and will transport you to another world (at least, musically-wise).
We can’t wait for Saturday to come!
Iceage are certainly one of our favorite bands, their way of music-making and performing on stage leaving us amazed and wanting to be part of them. So we are more than happy to collaborate with them live on stage on December 13th! We spend a few days in Copenhagen trying out some stuff and we can’t wait to reunite with them the upcoming days!

How can it be? Jonny Greenwood‘s compositions There Will Be Blood and Popcorn Superhet Receiver have never been performed before in Germany. Together with Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop we will change that. So, mark your agendas: GERMAN PREMIERE on December 12th!
Remember Mica Levi’s (of Micachu) haunting soundtrack for Under The Skin? Well, Greezy is exactly this – haunting and beautiful and live at Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz on December 13th.
On December the 11th, the first day of the festival, stargaze and Cantus Domus Choir will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cantata 150. Here you can listen to how that sounded during our last performance this summer at Haldern Pop Festival (Also listen to Kate Tempest’s message please, we love Kate).
Very happy and excited that Bryce Dessner will play Garcia Counterpoint at our festival and that Sugar String Quartet (Grégoire Simon, Boram Lie, Paul Valikoski and Elfa Rún Kristinsdóttir) will perform his composition Tenebre featuring the voice of Sufjan Stevens.
Festival preparations: Bartók’s Village Scenes and Ligeti’s Cello Concerto. Less than a month to go!
And on the 13th of December: Villagers and stargaze will perform new and old arrangements by Cormac Curran and Nico Muhly. We’ve met them Haldern Pop Festival 2013, performed Crossing Border Festival and are so happy to finally reunite with them!
On the second night of our festival, the 12th of December, A Hawk and a Hacksaw will perform in a special collaboration with stargaze (Eoin Andersen, Dea Szücs, Thora Margrét Sveinsdóttir, Andreas Voss, Lisa De Boos, Maaike van der Linde, Marlies van Gangelen, Ausiàs Garrigós Morant, Morris Kliphuis, Florian Juncker and Andi Haberl)
